Heart & Hustle - Personal Growth for Business Results
This lesson took me five years, two burnouts, and €10,000s to learn:
(I'll share with you for free)
"Don't grind."
If you:
Work double-digit hours
Skip exercise to hustle more
Trade sleep for extra screentime
Pack your calendar like a box of sardines
Have a to-do list the size of a Chinese diner menu
Feel guilty about missing family events & catch-ups with friends
You're not doing yourself a favor (or anyone else.)
Chances are, you're doing it because subconsciously, you think you have to.
How do I know? Because I've been there. I've hustled 10+ hours per day for years and worked a whole month without a day off. I've hit the gym every day for 30 days in a row. I got up on Sundays two hours before my girlfriend to work on the business. Did it get me results?
For sure, but...
So many times, I've caught myself pushing the pedal to the metal because I thought it would finally make me feel enough. I would finally feel happy if I just had more money, a nicer house, and bigger biceps.
I was chasing self-worth through external accomplishments, which is something society tells us to do.
Especially as man, you're judged on your looks, money, status.
There's nothing wrong with trying to improve yourself, but...
Grinding more and more is highly likely to keep you in the same pattern forever.
Let's be honest here for a second - how often have we said "just this one project, once this is done I can finally relax, next year I'll work less and enjoy more..."?
And how many times has that actually happened?
It pretty much proves that the grind doesn't work because it only creates more... grind.
It's like trying to fill a bottomless pit. No external achievement can ever make up for an internal void. (And especially as men, we feel like we always have to be strong and there's something wrong with us if we have that void.)
This doesn't just impact you, but also your:
Relationships
Mental health
Peace of mind
Business growth
Long-term health
Imagine how much these would benefit if you stopped merely functioning and started fully living.
I know this is a very foreign concept in today's hustle culture, but you can:
Enjoy your success
Spend time with people you love
Earn more with less hours worked
Take time for yourself to regenerate
Feel good about yourself when you take time off
And the best thing?
Your business/career won't fall apart when you do - I promise. In fact, it's going to thrive even more.
When you focus on your happiness, inner peace, and mental health, you can show up much more powerfully than before.
You'll trust yourself to take on bigger challenges. You'll create a better reality. You'll truly enjoy each and every day.
(I've helped enough people go through this transformation to be able to say that.)
Joy > Suffering
Balance > burnout
Sustainability > grind
You know which side of the equation you want to be on.
Me, having the time to touch plants (got stung by a cactus about a minute later 😁)
Secret Sauce - This Week's Quote:
"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success."
This quote impresses me because it flips the script.
We all grew up thinking we have to achieve more to be happy. We follow along and believe that if we just make enough money, look great, and achieve higher status, we'll finally be happy, worthy, and feel at peace.
But the truth is that if what you have right now isn't enough - nothing will ever be.
If you have deep-rooted beliefs about yourself, no amount of external achievements will ever change them. You'll just play the same game on a different level.
Realize that you are worthy already, regardless of what you've achieved.
You'll free up so much energy and time that you can then use to build the life you truly want.
Internal change creates external results.
🙏
PS: If you want someone by your side who has gone through the process - just reply "enough" to this email. I'm happy to help :)
